Arriving at Alor Setar Railway Station, one has the option to take a taxi to Kuala Kedah Jetty, approximately 13 km away, with an expected fare of around 20 MYR.
From Alor Setar Railway Station to the bus station, you will exit the station and turn right, walking past the old train station. Upon reaching the main road, take a left and continue walking into the city center for approximately 10 to 15 minutes. The bus stop is located on a parallel road to the north once the main road becomes a one-way street.
The white-colored buses that service this route belong to the HBR Group. The destination is usually displayed on the front window screen of the bus. The bus fare to Kuala Kedah is 1.70 MYR, with the journey taking about 20 to 30 minutes, traffic dependent.
This bus will stop on the main road in front of the Kuala Kedah Ferry Terminal. Inside the terminal, you can find the ticket counters for the ferry to Langkawi. These buses also travel to the main bus station in Alor Setar, known as Terminal Bas Shahab Perdana.

Kuala Kedah Ferry to Langkawi
Upon arrival at Kuala Kedah Jetty, travelers can purchase a ferry ticket to Langkawi for 34.50 MYR per adult. The ferry service, run by the Langkawi Ferry Line, offers five departures each day, providing flexibility in travel planning.
