Woodlands Train Checkpoint is a crucial transportation hub in Singapore that serves as both a railway station and an immigration checkpoint. The station is divided into two floors: the first floor is dedicated to ticket counters, customs, immigration, and a waiting area, while the second floor houses the boarding queue for departing passengers. The station is also equipped with vending machines for beverages. 

If you plan to visit the checkpoint from other parts of the island using public transportation, you can take a combination of bus and MRT, or alternatively, hire a taxi. The nearest MRT station is Marsiling MRT Station (NS8), located about 1.7 kilometers away on the North-South MRT Line. Visitors can take bus number 950 from outside the MRT station (the bus stop Opp Marsiling Stn – 46529), which takes about 2 minutes to walk, and get off at Woodlands Train Checkpoint.

How to Cross the Border between Singapore and Malaysia

Crossing the border between Singapore and Malaysia via the shuttle train from Woodlands to Johor Bahru is a straightforward process. It is recommended that passengers arrive at Woodlands Station at least 30-40 minutes before departure, allowing ample time for immigration and boarding procedures.

Johor Bahru (JB) Sentral Railway Station is a crucial transportation hub that serves as the main arrival point for travelers taking the Shuttle Tebrau train from Woodlands in Singapore. From JB Sentral, passengers can then travel to Tumpat, located near the border with Thailand, or Gemas, an interchange hub for travels to Kuala Lumpur.

JB Sentral is strategically located at Bukit Chagar, which is in the heart of Johor Bahru, between Jalan Tun Abdul Razak and Jalan Jim Quee streets. The station features six platforms, with platforms 3 and 4 reserved for Shuttle Tebrau train services.
